My selfcare? Up 2 hours before the house and in the

I had an early am call with a new business partner and we chatted about how we keep sane by being the first ones up for some me time!

Sun first thing in the morning has so many benefits too, you only need 5–15 minutes of unfiltered morning sun on your face or arms to start seeing these benefits.

 Top Benefits of Early Sunshine

1. Regulates Your Circadian Rhythm (aka your body’s clock)

Morning sunlight helps reset your internal clock, making it easier to fall asleep at night and wake up feeling refreshed.

2. Boosts Mood + Mental Health

Sunlight triggers the release of serotonin, your body’s natural mood stabilizer. More serotonin = less anxiety and a lower chance of seasonal depression.

3. Increases Natural Energy

Exposing your eyes (without sunglasses) to natural light first thing helps signal to your body that it’s time to wake up—no caffeine required.

4. Supports Healthy Hormone Production

Morning sun exposure helps regulate cortisol (your stress hormone) in a natural way, leading to better focus and reduced inflammation.

5. Improves Sleep Quality (yes, really!)

Getting morning light exposure increases melatonin production later in the day, which means deeper, more restful sleep at night.

6. Strengthens Immune Function

Sunlight stimulates vitamin D production, which is essential for immune health, bone strength, and hormone regulation.

7. Supports Metabolism + Weight Balance

There’s research linking early light exposure to better metabolic function and a healthier BMI over time.
