Age gap magic. One week into four.
They warned me about the terrible twos.
Said three would test me and they did.
But four?
No one prepared me for four.
Even though I’ve done it twice before… clearly it was too long ago.
Four is fierce.
Four is funny.
Four is “I love you” whispered through tantrum tears.
Four is “I thought you were my best friend!” when told no.
It’s sass, stubbornness, curiosity, and chaos on repeat.
It’s “I can do it myself!” and “Mommy, help me!” in the same breath.
And parenting four… while also parenting fourteen and seventeen?
It’s whiplash.
It’s snack crumbs and college talks.
It's happy squeals and heartbreak.
It’s princess dresses and prom dresses.
It’s one learning letters, the others learning life.
It’s the hardest and the sweetest season all rolled into one.
And even in the chaos and contradictions…
I already know....
I’ll miss four.
Just like I’ll miss fourteen.
Just like I’ll miss seventeen.
